ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The Handi Lift is very useful patient transfer aid, for transferring from a bed to a chair or wheelchair.
It is made from very strong material, but is very light. It is comfortable to use, both for the nursing staff and patients.
The Handi Turn (sold separately) is a revolving transfer disk that is helpful, and is used in conjunction with the Handi Lift when turning patients.
WHO SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT?
Depending on the co-operation from the patient, one carer can use the Handi Lift. However, it is highly recommended that two carers assist in the transfer.
HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT
The carers hold the handles on either side of the patient, with a hand on the patient’s shoulder.
Both carers step back, transferring their weight from their forward foot to their rear foot, keeping their arms straight so that the weight of the patient is taken by their leg muscles.
