ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The Slide & Turn Sheet is a low-friction positioning aid with an integrated foam base that assists with grip on the bed surface. It is constructed in a circular design, effectively creating a dual-layer sliding surface that reduces friction and assists carers in repositioning a person in bed with less physical effort. The material is lightweight, breathable, and designed to minimize heat retention.
WHO SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT?
This product is suitable for people who require assistance with repositioning or turning in bed due to reduced mobility. This may include people affected by:
- Advanced age-related frailty
- Arthritis
- Musculoskeletal conditions
- Parkinson’s disease
- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)/Motor Neuron Disease (MND)
HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT
Place the Slide & Turn Sheet on the bed with the foam side facing down to assist stability. Position the person in the center of the sheet, either directly on the material or with a standard bed sheet or continence aid between the person and the surface.
With appropriate training, a carer may gather the upper layer of the material and use it to assist turning the person onto their side. The process may then be repeated in the opposite direction as required. This product is intended to support safer repositioning and may help improve comfort during rest, even if the sheet becomes disordered during use.
